When the Crown Prince of Spain, Felipe, married former newscaster Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, it was quite the event. The wedding was held at Madrid’s Almudena Cathedral in May 2004, with an estimate of over 1,500 guests in attendance. There was an unbelievable number of flowers, over one million, in and around the Cathedral! A major part of the wedding’s budget, however, was spent on security, as the wedding took place only a few months after the Madrid subway bombings.
